In 2022, Bag Check will be available to runners who wish to leave their dry clothes and items during their run.
Please be aware WFPS Run is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Location – Bag Check location will be announced in the fall. Dependant on public health regulations it may be located outdoors. Please check back closer to the event.

- Inside CMU Grounds is a small bike rack area
- Inside Assiniboine Park by duck pond, Zoo entrance on Roblin
- At St Paul’s High School or Shaftesbury High School

Spectators
WFPS Run is monitoring public health regulations around in-person events and number of allowed participants on site. It is still strongly recommended that spectators chose a spot on the course to view the event and to reduce crowing at the event site. Updates on allowed numbers and special spaces for spectators will be made closer to the event date.
As in previous years, awards will be presented for the top runners in their age categories. The WFPS Run committee will determine if these awards will be presented on-site or post event in a Facebook Live event.
WFPS Run is happy to offer runners a selection of post run treats in our Food Tent. In 2022, these selections may be served to you “cafeteria style” by volunteers or may be pre-bagged. Runners are welcome to stay and relax in our Food Tent or take their goodies to go.
There are no race day kit pick-ups – no exceptions.
You must pick up your kit in person due to potential public health requirements and proof of vaccination requirements.
Kit pick up dates and times are as follows
Friday, October 14th 9am – 7pm
Saturday, October 15th 9am – 5pm
Kit pick up is located in the Loewen Gym on the CMU North Campus located at 500 Shaftesbury Blvd
Please note:
WFPS Run will be following the most current public health orders. These could include:
- Reduced numbers allowed in the gym at one time – at peak times you may experience line ups
- Requirement to provide proof of ID with your COVID-19 vaccination information
- Masks could be required indoors
- Additional hand sanitization requirements
In 2021 we must eliminate our bag check. Instead, runners will be provided with a Ziploc bag in their kit pick up that can fit: ID, keys and wallet.
You may write your name and bib number on the bag and our volunteers will store it securely while you run. Drop off can be done in the 30 minutes prior to your event starting.
There is NO INDOOR access in 2021. CMU will not be open for runners or volunteers.

No spectators will be allowed on site in 2021. Please ask your friends and family to watch you run on the event route or meet up with you after your event.
In 2021, our runner awards will be held post- event in a live stream broadcast on our Facebook page. Our Race Director will announce our winners and award will be mailed out in November.
WFPS Run is happy to provide a variety of pre-packaged grab and go options in 2021. Although the food tent will not have space to sit and eat, we are happy to have bagged food for our runners to take with them.
Kit Pick Up Times (REVISED IN 2021):
Please be aware that all kits must be picked up in person by the runner with ID. Due to health check questionnaire and race time assignments, runner must attend kit pick up in person.
- Thursday, October 14 – 9 am to 7 pm
- Friday, October 15 – 9 am to 7 pm
NO KIT PICK UP SATURDAY OR SUNDAY – These are Race Days
Kit Pick Up Location:
Canadian Mennonite University (500 Shaftesbury Blvd) – Main level inside the Loewen Gymnasium
Runner please be aware:
- You will be asked to complete a health check questionnaire by our volunteers
- You will be asked to put on a wrist band in order to accept your kit – this wrist band corresponds to your access time on site as well as your race time
- You cannot request to downgrade your event in 2021
- You cannot transfer your bib to another person
There will not be an expo in 2021
