Bag Check will be available to runners who wish to leave their dry clothes and items during their run.

WFPS Run is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Location – Bag Check is located inside the Loewen Gym. Open at approximately 6:30 am, closes by 1pm.

Lost and found items can be dropped off or claimed here.
RUNNERS – Please be advised that it is imperative that all hallways be kept clear at all times.  Fire safety regulations require these hallways to be clear and free of crowding.  Please move outside to the heated Food Tent on Race Day.

Parking

Please consider using active transport (bus, bike, carpool or walk) or have a friend drop you off on Race Day.

Parking is VERY LIMITED.

There is ABSOLUTELY NO PARKING AT THE EVENT SITE, ON CMU SOUTH CAMPUS LOT, SURROUNDING FIELDS OR ST. DEMETRIOUS CHURCH

Suggested parking:

  • Any side street close or near the event grounds
  • Shaftesbury High School (where permitted)
  • St. Paul’s High School (where permitted)
  • Inside Assiniboine Park (ACCESS THE MAIN GATES VIA OFF OF CORYDON AVE)

Suggested Bike Rack Areas

  • Inside CMU Grounds is a small bike rack area
  • Inside Assiniboine Park by duck pond, Zoo entrance on Roblin
  • At St Paul’s High School or Shaftesbury High School

Please obey all parking regulations, lock your car and ensure you DO NOT LEAVE VALUABLES INSIDE.

Spectators

It is still recommended that spectators chose a spot on the course to view the event and to reduce crowing at the event site.

Awards will be presented for the top runners in their age categories.  In 2022, this event will take place inside the CMU facility – please follow the signage or look at the site map for location
Awards start at 10:30am

WFPS Run is happy to offer runners a selection of post run treats in our Food Tent.  In 2022, these selections may be served to you “cafeteria style” by volunteers or may be pre-bagged.  Runners are welcome to stay and relax in our Food Tent or take their goodies to go.

There are no race day kit pick-ups or downgrades – no exceptions.

2023 FREE REGISTRATION*

Participants in the Half Marathon, 10k and 5k races can run for FREE…by supporting the Heart and Stroke Foundation and collecting donation pledges**

**Your fee can be refunded if you raise a minimum of:

  • Half Marathon: $300
  • 10k: $200
  • 5k: $175

*You must be registered FIRST to participate in this Program.

 

Q: How can I get my refund?

Participants can drop off pledges during the two-day Race Kit Pick Up or on Race Day. On Race Day the HSF pledge drop off table is located inside the Bag Check Area inside they CMU gymnasium before the run. We will be announcing the top 3 fundraisers in November via e-blast.

Q: I won’t be at kit pick up.

Please email admin@wfpsrun.com post event to let us know you believe you qualify for the refund or tax receipt.

Q: How long do I have to submit my donations to get a refund or tax receipt?  

We must have confirmation that you raised your minimum pledge goal BEFORE noon CST October 31. 2023

Q: When will my refund happen?

If your pledge goal is confirmed at the kit pick up – we can do it immediately onsite by refunding back to the original form of payment.  If you contact us post-race, before October 31,  we will apply the refund within 3-5 business days.

Q: What do I get refunded?

 You will be refunded your original registration fee plus GST.  Sorry, we cannot refund ACTIVE fees, or any donations made at the time of registration.

Q: If I choose tax receipt what happens?  

 If you are onsite, HSF will confirm you have met your minimum pledge goal.   HSF will provide WFPS Run with a list of all runners who chose the tax receipt.  WFPS Run will submit your original registration fee plus GST to HSF on your behalf.  Sorry, we cannot include ACTIVE fees, or any donations made at the time of registration.  Your donation will be part of the 2023 tax receipts – HSF issues these in early 2024. We will be using your name and address on your registration to submit to HSF.
